Clear Reel Guide 18+
Independent UK casino comparison

Six licensed casinos, read by the studios on their reels.

We put six UKGC-licensed operators through the same seven checks — licence, game range, live casino, app, offer terms, support and usability — and traced which game studios actually stock each lobby. Clear Reel Guide is an independent comparison site funded by affiliate commission: we run no games, take no deposits and hold no player accounts. Nothing here belongs to an operator, a regulator or anyone we review.

How we compare the six

Every operator on this page went through the same file. We open the Gambling Commission's public register first — if the licence, the licensee and the domain don't line up, the review stops there. Then we work through the product itself, in this order:

  1. Licence check. Licensee name, account number and registered domain, verified against the UKGC public register and printed on each card below so you can repeat the check yourself.
  2. Game range. Not the advertised game count — the actual shape of the lobby, and whether it's one studio deep or thirty studios wide.
  3. Live casino. Which live-dealer rooms exist, who supplies the tables, and how they're presented.
  4. Mobile and app. How the site behaves on a phone, and whether a native app adds anything the mobile web version lacks.
  5. Welcome offer terms. The type of offer and how readable its conditions are. We describe offers factually and never treat a bigger number as a better casino.
  6. Support. The routes on offer and how quickly a plain question gets a plain answer.
  7. Usability. Registration flow, navigation, and whether safer-gambling tools are easy to find rather than buried.
How the money works: if you click through to an operator and sign up, that operator may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing, it is never paid to you through us, and it buys no score — the criteria above are applied the same way whether or not a commercial relationship exists. Full detail in our affiliate disclosure.

What happens before a card is published

  1. Step one — the register

We pull the operator's record from the UKGC register and note the licensee, account number and domain status.

  2. Step two — the lobby walk

We work through the casino on desktop and phone: game sections, live tables, search, filters, the lot.

  3. Step three — the studio trace

We list which game studios supply the lobby, since that — more than any banner — decides what a casino actually feels like to play.

  4. Step four — score and re-check

Seven criteria produce one score out of ten. Licence records are re-checked when we update the page; the date on each card tells you when that last happened.

Commercial relationships can influence which operators appear here; they do not change the scores. Cards are numbered in the order we filed the reviews — the score carries the verdict. 1. QuinnBet

Sportsbook first Loss-back promotion Gibraltar family firm

A Gibraltar-based bookmaker from the Quinn family stable, with QuinnCasino bolted on as the second act — the slot shelf is compact next to the racing coverage. Its Quarterback promotion, which returns a share of weekly losses as a free bet, is the feature regulars actually mention.

  2. Hollywoodbets

Racing roots Casino beside the book UKGC since 2019

Durban's racing giant crossed into Britain in January 2019, and the UK site still leads with horses before slots. The casino tab has grown into a respectable second room, all of it sitting on the same Gambling Commission licence as the sportsbook.

  3. Midnite

Built in London by Dribble Media as a casino, sportsbook and esports venue behind one account, and the app is the cleanest thing on this list. The live-table room draws on the major studios, and the whole product feels designed rather than assembled.

  4. Mega Casino

Runs on Skill On Net's platform — the same engine behind PlayOJO — which is why a mid-sized brand carries one of the deepest game libraries in this comparison. Dozens of studios feed the lobby, from household slot names to the platform's own in-house titles.

The oldest site in this comparison, live since 2011 on the same Skill On Net licence as Mega Casino, with a Malta Gaming Authority licence alongside the British one. The brand is quieter and the front door plainer, but the multi-studio catalogue behind it is essentially the same machine.

Head-to-head

Three duels that settle the real questions

A table of thirty cells hides more than it shows. These three pairings put the operators that actually compete for the same player side by side, on the points where they genuinely differ.

Mega Casino vs Euromania

Two brands, one licence — Skill On Net account 39326 sits behind both.

Our score8.47.7

Verdict: the machinery is shared, so presentation decides it — Mega Casino's front-of-house is simply better organised. Pick Euromania only if its longer track record matters to you.

Midnite vs QuinnBet

Two crossover accounts where casino and sportsbook share a wallet — built a decade apart in spirit.

Verdict: for the casino itself, Midnite wins comfortably. QuinnBet earns its place when the book comes first and the casino is an occasional detour.

Admiral Casino vs Hollywoodbets

One studio deep against sports-led breadth — the clearest philosophical split on the list.

Verdict: Admiral for slot purists who know exactly which titles they came for; Hollywoodbets for players who want racing on the same login and treat the casino as the encore.

Before anything else

Play with a plan, not a hope

Gambling is entertainment with a price, never a way to make money — every game on every site we review pays out less than it takes in over time, by design. Set a deposit limit before your first session, treat losses as the cost of the evening, and stop the moment it stops being fun. If it already has, these four organisations exist precisely for that, and all of them are free.

Questions we actually get

Short answers, UK specifics

Playing safe

How do I check a casino is genuinely licensed?

Go to the Gambling Commission's public register at registers.gamblingcommission.gov.uk and search the account number we print on each card — not the brand name, which can be shared or similar across companies. The register shows the licensee, the licence status and the exact domains it covers. If the domain you're on isn't listed, close the tab.

What does GamStop actually do?

One registration at gamstop.co.uk excludes you from every online operator licensed in Great Britain — all six on this page included — for six months, one year or five years. It can't be reversed early, and licensed sites are required to enforce it. It takes about five minutes and costs nothing.

Does Clear Reel Guide hold my money or my account?

No. We never touch deposits, winnings or personal accounts, and we can't intervene in a dispute with an operator. Account matters go to the operator's own support first, then to their listed alternative dispute resolution provider if you're not satisfied.

Offers & the small print

What does a "wagering requirement" mean in practice?

It's the amount you must stake before bonus money converts to withdrawable cash. A £50 bonus at 35x wagering means £1,750 in bets first — and games usually contribute at different rates, with slots often 100% and table games far less. Read that number before the headline figure; it's the one that decides whether an offer is worth your time.

Why don't you print exact bonus amounts on every card?

Because operators change them faster than any comparison page updates, and a stale figure is worse than none. Where we're confident, we state the offer type; the binding terms are always the ones on the operator's site on the day you sign up. The "last updated" date at the top tells you when we last walked through the lot.

If operators pay you commission, why trust the scores?

Fair challenge. Commission may follow a click; it never precedes a score — the same seven criteria are applied to every operator, and the licence data on each card lets you audit the factual claims yourself. Our editorial policy sets out exactly how the commercial and editorial sides are kept apart, and corrections explains what happens when we get something wrong.
